from my experience light fog limits vision to around 3KM although you deck crew may still not see ships that you could see with your binoculars.they are funny sometimes like that, not sure about medium but i reckon 1500M at a guess. heavy fog reduces viability to 350M at best so its almost impossible to hunt as you have to track your target very well and plan a good intercept via the hydrophone. even then you may end up too close and your safeties will not turn off in time. this has happened to me on a few occasions were the target is just too juicy not to fire a few rounds off.

i am still using vanilla though so maybe with upgraded atmo your field of vision is slightly higher but those are the basic ranges

edit: was out today and found that you can see ships at 5Km in light fog but your guys only shout them out at around 4.5Km
