most storms bad enough to hurt the boat can be rode out by going deep

This is my point. In RL you would have to take action to protect your boat or minimize your difficulties; in the game you just cruise through it. It's no big deal.


By compromised I don't mean that you have storms snapping your boat in two, or anything like that; but rather being forced to submerge, endangering your crew, causing you to burn much extra fuel, having to alter course, or pass up attack opportunities. SH4 weather is mostly an optical illusion. It looks menacing, but has little influence on your operations.
