Keep in mind the author focusses on the Germnan, and European stater mof things. To what degree it is comparable on your side of the pond, I cannot say. I assume the trend is the same, but between the old and the new world there sometimes are time delays in trends, and what started earlier in one sphere, took some time to reach the other sphere as well.
Gender streamlining, or gender engineering, if you prefer that term, is an official doctrine of the EU. According female gender roles are pushed especially by the left and the Greens, but since years also by the conservatives.
I dare say it does incredibly plenty of damage. To men. To women. To psychohygienics. To relations between both sexes. To families. To children. To the education system. To the job world.
It is a big drama, a very big drama, I dare say.
