That's a beauty!!

This thread is getting to be like the "Bill Dance Show" for the computer wargamer, (love his "out takes" episode).

I'm sure that young lad had a thrill when he hauled in those large fish! Hope he's doing well with the Marines.

I remember my 42 inch pike taking 20 minutes to land using fairly light tackle. That was a fish caught I'll never forget!

One thing I've found about the fish coming from the colder northern waters is that none of them taste "fishy", you know, with a strong fish taste. I fished Norris Lake in Tennessee for years with my dad and the bass/blue gill always had a strong taste to them (not a bad taste at all, but a strong distinct flavor to them). The fish from up north don't have that distinct taste. Could be pike or perch, they both taste about the same.....GREAT. I've never not liked a fried fish put in front of me!!
