Actually it's not a real new story. The swiss already had this system of defences in WW2.
The OKW had theoretic plans for invading switzerland already in 1940 but it was estimated that the German losses would be to high and therefore it was never more than an theoretical wargame.
Just for the record in Bavaria and many parts of Germany streetunnels, bridges and mountain roads have explosives chambers chambers or a prechamber shaft to blow up the tunnel or segments of an street.
