It's a known stock bug that sometimes the shells will go WAY off target. I've seen it go as much as 30 degrees off path. It seems to happen more as the waves pick up and the gun doesn't align with the sights or something like that. The only solution I've found is to save, exit, and restart. Hopefully the gun won't be borked.
