Some questions you just shouldn't ask. This is one of them.
Don't get me wrong, I made the same mistake you did and I really don't like having to pay for the same software twice.
But at about $5 for the DVD version, it didn't actually hurt all that much. AND I now have a DRM-free, solid copy of the game with its own registration key.
So I'm not slamming on you, really I'm not. I understand your situation as I was in it myself. But at the price at which you can get an original hard copy, I can heartily recommend it.
