I am not familiar with the west coast, but out east, the two main weak points are the Ontario-New York borders and the various Indian reserves which dot the frontier.

Ontario and New York are separated by the St-Lawrence river. At night, the USCG will often spot fast boats crossing the river, but usually cant react before they are across.

The other major problem are Indian reserves which straddle the border. Movement from Canada or the US onto the reserves is unrestricted. Canadian authorities are unwilling or unable to act on the reserves. In theory, the canada-US border on the reserve is supposed to be policed by the local band, but it is well known to be relatively "porous".
