I brought my camera out on our New Years patrol of 1940 and I thought I would share some photos.

Test dive after departing Kiel.

A tanker is left burning off the Norwegian Coast.

Rough waters spoiled our New Years meal.

After a pair of sinkings, the British step up their patrols along the East Coast.

We leave a lucky tanker smoking having fired our last fish and not having a deck gun. (New Years Resolution: Get a deck gun.)

Back in Kiel, Adm. Doenitz, is suitably impressed. I'll get my deck gun and more.

The year has only started and the tonnage race is on.
