Well, like I said, we have a dedicated tanksim forum section. You really should ask there.
But, I can give you some pointers:
Steel Beasts Pro Personal Edition
- Modern tanksim, generally considered the best of the best there is.
Costs quite a bit compared to it's competition. Don't have personal experience
of it, but Skybird over at the tanksim section seems to know quite a bit about it.
T34 vs. Tiger
- Discontinued AFAIK (the devs shut down). Compared to most tank games,
it's ok. WWII setting. I keep going back to it every once in a while just to
drive the Tiger around (love that tank!!).
WWIIOL (aka Battlegrounds: Europe)
- MMO, so mothly subscription is needed. But the tank aspect is something
I like very much in it. There's no limits where you can go on the downscaled
map of west Europe. Of course, the fighting will only happen at the fronts,
but nothing stops you from taking a tank and ambushing possible reinforcements
from other towns (as I've done number of times). Downside, apart from the
subscription fee is that it does take some time to learn the game. The free trial
(14 days the last time I checked) is not nearly enough for that. All in all, it's very nice.
The penetrations can be a bit twitchy at times, but most of the times it works, i.e. Tiger
has not troubles knocking out an Sherman from 1,8 kilometers and so on.
