The Gold Edition IS version 1.5, therefore no additional patching is required. You
should have an "
ID Target" button (
I haven't played the stock version in a while) and it should be at your periscope station somewhere in the string of buttons on the bottom. You have to enable the Event Camera in the "Game Options" menu that appears in your Home Port office. You should see a radio on a shelf inside your office and clicking on it will lead to the "Options" menu.
The mods add different looks and capabilities to your gameplay experience. You say you tried to add TMO/RSRDC but they haven't taken. By what manner or process (or, how) did you try to add them?
Did you use JSGME to install them, and did you properly install JSGME to your SHIV root folder?
