I've always wondered about that too...
I suppose it makes things less cluttered in a way... and that's really only for the sonar, as I do find the Fire Control Station pretty functional, I feel like I have more control over my weapons and countermeasures there.
But then again, I don't know how people play with Mk48's and TASM's.
I feel like I'm bring a knife to a gunfight. :hmm:
