I'm with Sniper. It began for me when I first saw the movie Run Silent, Run Deep as a kid. Then I read the book, watched the TV series Silent Service and it went on from there. Sub movies, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (movie and TV series), etc. Wound up joining the Army instead of the Navy. Figured I could always walk back if my ride got shot out from under me.
