Hope Neal and my fellow Kaluens don't mind me bringing this to your attention!
I'm a (struggling) freelance games writer and I've recently been doing some work for a new magazine called Play SF. It's out now on Zinio for Ipad/phone/etc, is cheap as chips at £1.57 an issue (every two months) and there are cheap sub offers as well (6 issues for the price of 5).
The magazine page is here:
http://gb.zinio.com/browse/publicati...ctId=500653067
and there's an online preview here:
http://www.zinio.com/reader.jsp?o=in...53067&prev=sub
From the blurb:
Quote:
PlaySF is a new digital-only magazine devoted to space and science fiction games. From the classic space conquest and trading sims of the past, through the sprawling sci-fi MMO universes of the present and towards the dystopian shooters of the future, the magazine aims to track games of all eras and across all platforms via a healthy spread of news, interviews, features and in-depth player reports - all of it delivered to the reading platform of your choice, whether it be desktop, laptop, tablet or personal communicator.

Apologies for the shameless advertising (not something I'd normally stoop to), but this is a pretty big thing for me - my first 'properly' published games writing, as opposed to the gratis stuff I do all the time for sites like allaboutthegames.co.uk - and because it's the first issue of a brand new mag (and there's not much advertising cash), we need it to do well in order for there to be an issue 2!
So I'm hoping there are a few science fiction fans here who'd enjoy the mag, and I'd love to hear any feedback you may have if you do read it. And even if sci-fi's not your thing, if you could tweet it, like the page on
facebook/google +, post it to other forums etc so word gets about, I would be enormously grateful!
Sincere thanks Kaleuns and good hunting
