That happened to Iran. But unless the Saudi's develop their own fighter jets, they will always have some dependence on foreign powers.
Indeed. I guess the next best thing would be to buy a figher manufatured by several nations like MiGs. Several nations (Russia, China, former eastern bloc) all manufature parts for them.
