I have been running DW with Wine for a while now.
1.2 had a lot of bug that prevented DW from running well.
Try out the new stable version 1.4. It came out just 2 days ago. You can probably download the Ubuntu package from the Wine website.
Wine 1.4 works perfectly now with DW.
