This is a known bug that effect some users and not others.
It will happen in both the stock game and OHII. I have been unable to find a fix as it seems to be to do with the cam.
So a work around:-
When you have gotten into possition and have the BB in your scope - fire all your fish at it and exit scope.
Goto the map view and wait for the torps to hit - then wait some more
If you stay in map view you can avoid the ctd (no peeking with external cam)
