The proper way to input data to the TDC is this.
First turn on the PK.
Second input speed and send to TDC.
Third input AoB and send to TDC.
Fourth bearing/range and send to TDC, Double click the send button here.
This will improve your shooting.

The gyro angle offset dial needs to be set for each torpedo, it doesn't set a spread. To use this lock on the target, that is middle of target (mot).
Set your first torpedo -1 or 2° Next mot or zero and third + 1 or 2°.
You can shoot stern, mot and bow this way.
Gyro offset is very range dependent so for close shooting 3° will work, mid range 2° and longer ranges may require as little as 0.5°.
It's something you just have to play with to get it right. They call it experience.

A more accurate way to do this is to wait till the target is almost at your firing point (bearing 350° to 010°) and then unlock the PK and move the periscope a few degrees, just ahead of the bow and click the send range/bearing to TDC.
Next fire when the part of the ship you want to hit crosses the wire.
You shoot bow, mot and stern. Gotta' be fast and it does take some experience but once you get it, very accurate.
I think is was Armistead that first posted this method.
