Untill last week I would have said scroogle - basically a google scraper or in short: google without the ******* stuff. Sadly it died last week...
Ixquick is a good one, they have a no tracking policy, it's available in a language of your choice and it lets you search for pics and vids.
A good German meta crawler is, ja, richtig geraten
: metacrawler.de - though I don't know about their privacy policy.

Didn't know this search engine before- great one

And I like the tracking explanaition by them (
http://donttrack.us/) where they also show present some good tools at the end of the site.
