I think if you were heading due S at 25m depth you should have got through the 4th section....assuming that your speed was correct!
You should have seen a message telling you to surface to complete the mission - you didn't just miss it did you?
If you click the mission objectives button (slide out panel) you will see the text for all successfully completed tasks, will have changed from blue to green. If it ain't green - you've haven't done it right!
Good luck next time - and remember to check your compass, dials and gauges to make sure you're following orders to the letter. If you forgotten exactly what they were....you can recall them with the M key.
