Try Dynamic Environment, it has a couple of different options that will alter sea colour/brightness; one of them should suit you.
Re the sub on the bottom, no not currently. TDW has done a little work on it, but until the GR2 editor is finally finished, not much can be done. Work on the GR2 editor is progressing well though, so hopefully it won't be too long to wait
