The trouble with the game itself, is if you try to change from the aft gun and move it forward of the conning tower, or the opposite, from the front to the back.

While glancing over the TMO pdf file I think it has something in there about the Gar and Tambor boats having their guns on the aft deck, so you may have to add the aft deckgun mod from the TMO 2.5 download.
