Didn't they put in for one of those licence things from the EU that stated it HAD to be brewed in Newcastle to be called Newcastle Brown Ale? (Like how Parmesan that isn't made in Parma is called 'Italian style grated cheese'.) What happened there?
Oh, and to carry on with the thread, when I do have a tipple (which isn't often, had a drink too many one night and had to work early next morning...mixed me drinks too. One sickly Oberon
) I drink Newcastle, Spitfire, Old Speckled Hen and occasionally the local brew of Adnams bitter.
I'm glad no-one has mentioned Stella...tried it once and immediately rebranded it 'reassuringly overpriced for the taste'.
