Internal sound card? Probably integrated sound chip
My advice would be to buy some cheap REAL sound card, because even the cheap one (try Creative Soundblaster Live!) is better than those integrated sound chips, which from my experience cause LOTS of problems and have overall negative effect on computer's performance
