GWX removes the Umark from the Umark.tga file in the SilentHunterIII\data\misc folder. If you are using a dvd version you can create a vanilla copy of SHIII and copy the umark file from this folder and paste it into your current game file.

Or it maybe on Maik's sh3communtiy server which you can find at this thread. It should be called Umark.7z. The other links I found for it are dead.
