A true pioneer and huge musical influence often overlooked by the general public. He used to have a weekly radio show here in Los Angeles on a public radio station and the good Reverend would play music that would be astonishing to some of the current 'geniuses' of modern "R&B". I used to hear some of his tracks growing up in San Francisco as a kid on local and "clear channel" stations (the old transistor under the pillow scheme), listening to the real roots of R&B and soul in the 50s and 60s.
