I'd check with a reputable computer tech to verify that the ati card would work with your current power supply; don't rely on the advice of some flunky of questionable knowledge level at a "big box" store.
Or, you might be able to find an affordable PSU to get along with your new vid card.
Good luck; I know its a headache, but in the end, you'll be happier once your system is upgraded.
