Working around nets is a difficult issue - as are MINES. My method is using the periscope for what little visibility it gives (which is NONE when its dark) - as well as EXTREMELY LOW speed. - 1 or 2 knots max. Yes - that means daylight entries into a harbor..... difficult at best! The low speed means that if you do tap a net, you wont do alot of damage. Mines on the other hand.... well.... lets just say they HURT! I find its useful to find the net, preferably visually, then "follow" it until you get to the midpoint of the bottleneck your trying to get thru, that is usually where the gap is. The other option is to find the net, back off from it a bit, then do a surface sprint over it - best done at night! This can cause some damage if you scrape, so be warned!

Good Hunting!
