Not sure how AMD and ATI are nowadays, but my last one, although nice, was more finicky than an Intel, with nVidia.
Depending on what game I was playing, I had to keep 2 sets of video drivers for the video card, because one set would lock up one game, and the other set would cause artifacts in couple games.
The nice thing about the AMD rig, is that I built it myself, and the software issues forced me to become more computer literate. Which i did learn a lot.
But the ease of just firing up the Intel machine I built in 08, is nicer in that I don't have the issues to worry about with drivers and can spend more time gaming.
