i am playing silent hunter III under WIN 7 with no difficulty. but i can't run the upgrade patches from UBIsoft for SH3. i get all the peculiar message all the time:
"*some file name like manu_de*/"unkwon version".
and the upgrade patch exits before starting.

i have tried a number of suggested solutions like renaming the file under question or deleting it altogether and the patch still doesn't run. is it because of WIN7 or is it a more fundamental problem? i can't use

many of the mods here unless i manage to upgrade. please help me.
