Wish I could do it again....I spent several hours today trying to get my sub damaged to that point (practice career of course) First I go Ahead flank directly into a a 33kt IJN task force of 7 destroyers on the surface! Oh, and I open fire at 14,000yeards with deck gun, launch all fish in random direction, and ping each one around 20 times when they were closer. (Pinged depth to be sure).

Needless to say, they took my bait. But I was either destroyed outright, or got away. No death balance at a 60 degree angle bellow crush depth with jammed dive planes!

So I figure Bungo Pete has got to give it to me. Having not played the mission, but read of this infamous captain on the forums, I employed the same clever and graceful tactic of dozens of pings + flank surface speed + firing deck gun (and 20mm when deck reloading) and firing off all fish blindly. He gets fairly close so I dive.... Next thing I know.... Torpedo Impact! 2 min later... Warship lost on bearing... ENEMY UNIT DESTROYED.


So I face off with the toughest guy in the game for the first time, in my hope that he sinks me with tremendous passion, and the fight is over within a couple min with a lucky and unintentional 8000 yard torpedo.....
