Hey PoorOldSpike.

The reason why the Shift 1,2,3 are not working is because your using a UK keyboard, if you set the keyboard to a US format in windows they should work fine.

On the UK keyboard they are different keys but unfortunately I can't remember which ones they are. I think there something like @ and Shift # and ; or ' but can't be sure haven't play the game for over six months.
