[QUOTE=Sailor Steve;1805131]Without question, yes, the German torpedoes could be set to turn at any angle up to 90 degrees.

See page 19.

What I find fascinating is that, according to this account at least, the TDC was in the conning tower, close to the attack periscope.

As for the angle being shown, I know it is always on in SH3. I haven't been able to play SH5 enough to look around for it.
Yes but if I'm not mistaken, in at least one version of the US fleet boats, (Salmon, Dolphin?) the TDC was in the tower as well as the attack scope right?
When I play SH4, (I'm in a Salmon right now) the TDC is right there nect to the Scope in the Tower. Yeah, it seems then ,that the German, English and US TDC's were all remarkably similar. This goes to show that during peacetime everyone was sharing... or stealing...
I'm going to have to do some real practicing as this firing mechanism in SH5 is quite differant on the outside than 3 & 4. I like to fire from a parallel course sometimes as it allows for a possible stern and bow shot to hit squarely in the side of the enemy.

PS; This is a great Report. Always love to read the real McCoy
