A1 Grand Prix? or that one with Soccer Teams as teamnames
and how popular is that? Not at all.
Apart that people root for a driver in Formular One people also pick their teams because of the technical race in the background if you standarize that you pretty much death sentence Formula One and will drop in popularity fast
and it has always been 4 maybe 5 teams that where duking it out in the top 10 so nothing has changed really. What I don't like over the last few years is how technical gadgets installed on the car does more work for the driver then the driver has to work to stay on top and ofcourse the stupid game rules FIA comes up with like the Tire rule (let the driver pick what they want to put under their car) Kers (remove it) the rear wing (let them open whenever they want) and less political nonesense in case of a racing incident

Like Senna puts it that a racer takes his chance when he sees one because if he doesn't he isn't a racer.
