The lack of outright denial and the curious inclusion of the phrase "
an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults" points more to a hedging against the possibility the accuser may indeed have strong evidence to support her allegation. Cain may spout off and bluster all he likes to the media, but the truth is apprently out there; what started out a smoke with no fire has now taken on a healthy, hot glow...
And, somewhere, Bill Clinton is having a good laugh...
