Default Pakistan 'to boycott Afghan Bonn talks' after Nato raid

Just don't start moaning in the years ahead that you weren't given a voice on the matter

Quote:
Pakistan is to boycott talks on Afghanistan's future in protest at a Nato air strike which killed 24 of its soldiers at the weekend, officials say.
The decision not to attend next week's conference in the German city of Bonn came after a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Pakistan says the air strike violated its sovereignty and the mandate of international forces in Afghanistan.

Whilst on the subject.....

Mullen mauling shows patience wearing thin with Pakistan

Quote:
Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is close to retirement. Perhaps that's why he's not mincing his words.
Or perhaps a new determination is growing in the US government to force Pakistan into changing its ways.
Before a Senate hearing on Thursday, Admiral Mullen stated definitively that Pakistani intelligence was supporting militant extremists in Afghanistan as they launch attacks on US forces there.

So what if he's nearing retirement....someone had to say it.
