I am not sure you know what you talking about. First, if you have installed RFB, you have installed a mega mod. Personally, I would play a stock game until you have a handle on the learning curve you need to master.

If you are asking about automatic targeting, which is what I think you are asking about, if you have elected to play a campaign, you set the game settings in port. You can only set or change the settings when you are in port. In the captain's room, there is a book on the counter top to the left of the desk. Point your cursor at the book and open it. Select the the game play settings. Do not check manual targeting. You will then be playing the campaign with automatic targeting. In the beginning do not select too many options, and keep the game simple. If you are not playing a campaign but are playing a single mission, as I recall, you set the game settings before each mission from the main menu (i.e. before you start the mission.)

If you are asking how to lock the periscope on a target, that is a different question. If that is what you want to do, put the periscope on the target and tap the "L" button. That will lock the scope on the target. You unlock the scope by tapping the "L" key.

In the future, I suggest you avoid slang or computer jargon, and try to be as precise as possible with your questions. It makes it easier for those of use who are considering responding, especially since for many captains, English is not their native language .

It seems you are quite enthusiastic about the sim. There is a lot to learn here, and the longer you play the more you will realize it. Many players have been at the sim for years. Some of the captains are brilliant. Wait till you tackle Mobo by aaronblood in the Mobo forum. It will blow your mind. So will the 3D TDC Radar Range Unit by nisgeis and the OTC mod Capn Scurvy, among others. Again, the Skippers Bag of Tricks sticky is a great place to start learning. I strongly recommend that you download and read Legion's Noob Guide to learn some submarine sim/SH4 basics.
