Well I can honestly say that was a pretty amusing if not irritating glitch. Nothing seemed to be working to resolve the problem so finally I just said "screw it" deleted cameras.dat and had steam give me a new one.....works beautifully.
And the best part is I didn't lose my campaign....except for patrol #8 but honestly the only thing I had achieved that patrol was taking some pictures of me fighting the weather.
