Yeah, there's definately a stock bug there, I've had it happen on several types of missions too. Used to drive me mad.
I'd park my sub on the star at max zoom and sit there for days an still not get recognition!
Dunno there's much u can do about it (other than just go and sink a boat load of tonnes!), it just makes a thankless task seem a little less thankless.
