If you're going to adjust options use the new application that's included for that:

TDW's NewUI has buttons in the top right corner which you can use to toggle Travel Mode, TC x1, Pause Game and filter out normal radio messages, radio contact messages, Contact messages from X distance and more! You can see those buttons in
