Judging by your pic, you shouldn't have problems to buy even Schnaps.
I live in the very West, so I can't say too much about Berlin other than: don't judge the Germans by the Berliners; they are much more grumpy towards strangers than the rest of us. And I am afraid that Berlin has few submarine-related places to visit.
