in this thread.
Since you have experience with the TDC I'd suggest skipping the Auto TDC stuff and do it "for real".

Personally I always try to setup the "Fast 90" type attacks where I get into a 90 degree attack position then just set my bearing to 0, AoB to 90 (or -90), range to whatever it is (usually try to keep it around 1200 or so) and set the ships range. Then rotate the scope till the gryo says 0 (usually -10 or +10 degrees) and fire when the ship passes the wire.
There's lots of other ways of playing though, so check out some of the videos and see what you like. I've been trying the Real Navigation mod recently and enjoy it, but my maps always end up off no matter how many times i follow the procedure to track a target. For example I've tried the four bearing methods 7 times now and it's only worked properly for me once.
