I think it was a stupid thing to say but no one ever accused Hank Jr of being smart.
Was there malicious intent in his comment? No.
I think some people are taking what was said too seriously and applying a meaning that was not intended.
Makes me think if there were other reasons for them wanting to fire ole Hanky.
