If you have not read the book or seen the TV series then yes go and see it.

Well, that's a shame. Can I ask what those mistakes were? It must be 20 years since I last read 'Tinker Tailor' and probably not far off that since I last saw the BBC adaptation so I'm sure there are things I missed.
As for the film, and the reason it's a shame your not going to see it, is that I thought it was magnificent. I thought it was quite simply one of the smartest, most beautifully filmed movies I've seen in years, with an absolutely stellar cast who were - each and every one of them - at the top of their game. Aside from Oldman, Kathy Burke was brilliant and Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy and Mark Strong were probably the best I've seen them.
The whole thing, acting, cinematography, music and writing, is just superb. Only complaint is that I wished it was another hour long, and that Kathy Burke got more screen time.
If Oldman doesn't get an Oscar for this something is seriously wrong in the Academy - but I think we know that anyway: how long did it take Scorsese to win his Oscar and what was it for?
Probably my film of the year. I might even go and see it again this weekend and I NEVER go and see a film in the cinema twice.
