I try to spend as much time below the surface as possible. I THINK its less of a workload on my crew, and it saves a ton of fuel that I try to put to use when the storm finally passes. You could always take your chances and relocate in the North Sea, where things are comparatively calmer but at the cost of fewer juicy targets.

The Atlantic is crazy unpredictable. One patrol I remember a storm lasting for 2 weeks, but on my the next patrol the Western Approaches were like glass for all of December (I thought the game was broken!).
