The conspiracy theorists who believe this drivel would tell you that the astronomers, being in the pay of NASA or some state funded university are government employees paid to keep their silence. Even overlooking that slipshod reasoning, what they seem to be oblivious of is the thousands of amateur astronomers out there of every nationality with excellent instruments. They are the ones who actually discover and catalog the vast majority of new objects in the solar system such as comets and asteroids. They're beholden to no one and they've seen no Nibiru.
Frankly, when you tell one of these idiots that you could Nibiru through a pair of decent binoculars if you knew where to look they beg off and make excuses. Apparently getting out from behind a computer and actually investigating for themselves is too much work. Much more fun to stay on the internet and mince on about scientific conspiracy.
