So, when a true grass roots movement comes along espousing smaller government, fiscal and personal responsibility, and American exceptionalism, they naturally feel threatened when the movement gains a following the size the various tea party organizations enjoy.

Rep. Allen West, a tea party member and member of the Congressional Black Caucus has written a letter to the chairman of the CBC, Emmanuel Cleaver, requesting that he condemn Andre Carson's remarks as well as those of Rep. Maxine Waters, who said in a public forum that "The Tea Party can go straight to hell."
