Contempt of court is one of those crimes that are generally committed willingly and with forethought; those who have contempt of the justice system, however flawed it might be, are hypocrites for demanding that that very same justice system ignore repeated and systemic disrespect of the process. As imperfect as the system is it requires respect as the alternative leads down the road to anarchy. Probably why assorted anarchists web sites have taken up Mr. Scarth's bogus cause.
Generally those using contempt as a vehicle for social protest wear their penalties as a badge of honour. It is also said that a man who defends himself has a fool for a lawyer and an idiot for a client. Both seem applicable here.
