I have heard the human eye cannot really see much above 30 fps anyway, and my experience has been this. If my games stay at a steady rate, it is easier to deal with low fps than (like 20s or so) than it is to deal with fluctuating frame rates. At least for me that is the case.

I would more use the processing power to attain and maintain 30 fps, and have the rest of the power to pre render, or do some other computation.
