Getting it to run will probably be no walk in the park, so better be ready to ask advice from some Linux support forum. I'm sure there will be lots of people who'll help you out, if need be, but it does seem like most people in this forum use Windows.
If I was any younger I would probably be trying to use Linux as well, but as most of my PC time is now on spent gaming, I don't have the energy to learn the stuff I would need to know to get the games working - for me it's enough of a hassle trying to get games like SH3 or Il-2 working in Windows 7
